KEY-HOLDING SERVICE
Would you expect your neighbour to attend an emergency alarm call-out at 2am while you’re away? Is your neighbour too polite to say no? Let us give you another option ....
Subscribe to our service for just €72 a year, which gives you peace of mind and entitles you to special rates in the event of an alarm or power failure emergency.
How does it work?
We hold your key and give it a unique identification number. Information about this key is not kept in the same place as the key, this ensures no connection between your key and your house.
Call-out costs if we need to attend your property will be :
- Emergency alarm or even false alarm to check property, 24 hrs a day. €30 per visit.
- To re-set your distribution board due to power failure. €15 per visit.
Unlike companies that charge high monthly fees, we only charge when called to attend your property. For more information on this service please contact Carl Barclay on 659 853 645.

ALARMS
It’s amazing how many varieties of alarm are available. Should you have a monitored alarm? - that depends on whether you mind a monthly payment.
We can supply a basic kit alarm from Securitas Direct costing €539 + IVA, installed, and the monthly fee is €28 + IVA. This is the latest version required by Spanish Government Law. You can activate, deactivate and see what is happening at home through your mobile phone. We have alarms available that are not monitored from a security office but do have an auto-dial feature that will send a message to your mobile phone if the alarm is activated.
We offer both of these alarms and strongly recommend you consider the area you live in and areas you visit, for signal strength, and purchase the alarm most suited for your need.
If you would like a free estimate to have an alarm fitted on your property, or to have a free security review, call Casa Segura Services and make an appointment with us.

GuardCam vs Security Lighting
From time to time a product enters the market that avoids unnecessary features to offer a simple solution to the problem. GuardCam from Casa Segura Locksmiths is one such product.
On first inspection GuardCam appears to be a combined floodlight and PIR detector, albeit with a modern design. A closer look reveals its’ many additional features. Integral to the main body of the unit lies a high resolution video camera, miniature SD recording device and powerful speech unit. GuardCam is CE approved and meets latest EU energy requirements by incorporating a 230W low energy grade C halogen lamp.
Detector controlled floodlighting is already recognised as an effective deterrent against casual crime, GuardCam raises the bar but at a cost and complexity acceptable to the majority of potential victims.
GuardCam is a complete all-in-one PIR floodlight, camera, speaker and DVR system. Simply connect to mains power, fix to wall and the built in DVR will record straight to the SD card supplied for complete peace of mind.
It’s funny, every house seems to have security lighting. Why do we have it? For most of us it’s to light up the way when we arrive home. Simply detecting motion, it lights up the driveway and helps us find key holes and assists to get in safely without tripping up.
Of course, if sat in your chair whilst watching TV the light comes on outside, you know something is on the move. Most security lights range from 150w bulbs to 500w and not only help to alert of intrusion,, but also when away could alert a neighbour. Most standard security lights can vary in price from €9.00 to €35.00 plus installation costs. So far, our observation is that most villas have them. But why not choose a product that does more than light up the way?
Replacement of anything costs money. You may have a disgruntled neighbour; a wing mirror replacement on a car could cost €100 or more, a keyed panel or other vandalism could cost more.
A burglar may not get into your home, but may cause hundreds of euros worth of damage trying! One of the most common call-outs we get is to change the locks due an opportunist thief entering a home while the occupants were on the terrace by the pool or doing some gardening, maybe upstairs or in the underbuild. Another fact is that an opportunist thief will enter during the daytime ... you are home, the alarm is unarmed and security lighting is doing nothing!
Recently we went to an incident where a family were eating at the dining table in the evening, it was dark outside, they had the curtains open and it was very easy to see them ALL sat eating from outside on the road. They had left a door open to the connecting underbuild apartment by the pool and were stripped of laptops, mobile phones and money while they ate. If they had GuardCam they would have been alerted by the light going on, and then been able to view the recordings. It’s amazing how many people upgrade or install security products AFTER an incident. This is because the most popular comment we hear is “I have nothing worth stealing”. Did you know a passport is worth up to €6,000 on the black market? They can be replaced, but the inconvenience is massive!
Another comment we often hear is “The police aren’t interested”. Granted, it seems the police are not CSI tooled-up but if they had more leads or evidence they could do more to help you.
We were called to the scene of a crime where a house had been ransacked. On the way into the urbanisation we noted the number plate and colour of a car on it’s way out. We passed that information to the authorities and it turned out the owner of the car was a known thief from a neighbouring town. If the owner of the house had GuardCam fitted they could have passed visual evidence to the police. It has now been fitted.
